These five animations have been created by Peter Gremse, ConzeptZone.de, to accompany the third of three papers investigating the archaeology, decoration and ownership of the tomb of Tutankhamun (KV 62). This paper argues that Tutankhamun’s place of burial was not a modest official’s tomb taken over and completed for the young king’s use, but rather the adapted outer section of a significantly larger sepulchre – a queenly tomb begun for Nefertiti herself, adapted for Nefertiti as co-regent of Akhenaten, and ultimately employed for Nefertiti as Akhenaten’s successor, Smenkhkare.
